We have some exciting news to share! Our Southgate, MI campus (previously located at 15755 Northline Rd., Southgate, MI 48195) is now moving to Woodhaven, MI (located at 19810 West Road, Woodhaven, MI 48183)! The Woodhaven campus is next to the Ashley Home Store. Our school is also across the street from Meijer’s. There are also several restaurants nearby.
With the move to Woodhaven, our campus will offer several training programs. These include Medical Assistant, Medical Administration and Billing, Pharmacy Technician, Dental Assistant, and Practical Nurse. Dorsey Schools’ commitment to the Downriver communities remains strong. Our Medical Assistant training program can be completed in just one year. Training in this program can give you the opportunity to work alongside doctors and patients on a daily basis. Medical Assistants are most often found working in doctors’ offices. Medical Assistants may also work in clinics. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Outlook Handbook, employment for Medical Assistant’s in the U.S. is projected to increase 29% between 2016 and 2026 (that’s much faster than most occupations)1 . The Medical Administration and Billing program can prepare you to work in an administrative role in healthcare. This type of role is best for someone who wants to work in healthcare, but not in a clinical setting. Examples of these types of roles may include becoming a Medical Receptionist, Medical Biller, or a Medical Secretary. In just a year, you could learn how to keep a medical office running smoothly. Have you always dreamed of becoming a Nurse? Well, here is your chance! Dorsey Schools’ Practical Nurse program can be completed in just one year! If you have already been working in the healthcare field and are looking to take your career to a new level, this could be your next step! LPN’s are critical to the healthcare system and can be found working in settings such as Nursing Homes and Home Health Care services. Take the next step and begin training in our Practical Nurse program.
The Dental Assistant program can help you train to become a professional member of the dental healthcare team. Dental Assistants may perform both clinical and administrative duties on the job such as assisting with dental procedures or scheduling appointments.
