Dorsey School of Business, doing business as Dorsey Schools, is accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education (COE). This applies to the Madison Heights campus (which serves as the main campus) and the Dearborn, Roseville, Saginaw, Southgate, Wayne, Waterford-Pontiac campuses (which are branch campus locations of Madison Heights). National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences
Taylortown School of Beauty, doing business as Dorsey School of Beauty located in Taylor, Michigan, is institutionally accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences (NACCAS). Incorporated under the name Taylortown School of Beauty, this location is fully owned and operated by Dorsey School of Business, and also operates and utilizes the d/b/a’s Dorsey School of Beauty and/or Dorsey Schools. Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools
PLEASE NOTE: Dorsey Schools voluntarily relinquished its institutional accreditation with the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools effective March 28, 2018. Effective February 19, 2018, the Council on Occupational Education formally acted to institutionally accredit Dorsey Schools (see above).
Dorsey Schools institutional accrediting agency, the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools, is no longer recognized by the US Department of Education. As such, Dorsey Schools has 18 months following the loss of its Department-recognized accrediting agency, to find a new accrediting agency (see above Council on Occupational Education – Candidacy disclosure) to maintain eligibility to receive funds under Title IV, HEA programs. If Dorsey Schools does not obtain accreditation within that 18 month period, which expires June 12, 2018, the Institution would no longer be eligible to receive funds under Title IV, HEA programs.
Any student at Dorsey Schools who has a complaint relating to Title IV eligibility or administration, the quality of education received at Dorey Schools, or otherwise relating to the accreditation standards of its former accrediting agency can submit that complaint to the Institution and/or to any of the following: 1) the US Department of Education’s Student Complaint website at https://www2.ed.gov/about/offices/list/ocr/complaintprocess.html, 2) the State of Michigan department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs at www.michigan.gov/pss , or 3) the State of Michigan office of Attorney General at http://www.michigan.gov/ag. No Title IV, HEA program funds were paid to any ineligible programs.
