MICHIGAN-BASED DORSEY COLLEGE OPENS NEW CAMPUS IN GRAND RAPIDS, MI

Dorsey College Now Offers Career Training Programs in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Dorsey College, a trusted name in career training and education here in Michigan for over 85 years, recently announced that they have opened a campus in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  In 2021, Dorsey acquired Great Lakes EMS Academy in Grand Rapids, and their Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic programs will now be offered through Dorsey College.  In addition, the College plans on adding additional healthcare career training programs in early 2023.  The new Dorsey College Grand Rapids campus is located at 2620 Horizon Dr., Suite 200, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 and is their first campus on the west side of the state.  The new Dorsey College campus will service residents in the greater Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo areas.

 

John Barnes, President, and CEO for Dorsey College shared, “We are very proud to open our initial Grand Rapids campus and better serve residents in Western Michigan who wish to train for a new career.  Dorsey has a vast history of providing quality career training here in Michigan, and we’re elated that we will now be able to serve the employers and prospective students in Grand Rapids and the surrounding communities.”  He went on to state, “our discussions with local employers have indicated a strong need for more skilled healthcare professionals in the area.  Our Grand Rapids campus currently offers EMS training programs, but we have plans to expand our campus and program offerings beginning in early 2023 to assure we fully meet the training needs of the Grand Rapids community.

 

The Dorsey School was founded by Ruth Dorsey in 1934 and was located in downtown Detroit.  Today, Dorsey College, remains committed to providing quality career training that prepares individuals for promising career opportunities in fields such as healthcare, nursing, culinary, beauty, skilled trades, and emergency medical services at various campus locations in Michigan.  Dorsey College is accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education.  This applies to the Madison Heights campus (which serves as the main campus) and the Dearborn, Grand Rapids, Roseville, Saginaw, Woodhaven, and Wayne campuses (which are branch campus locations of Madison Heights).  To learn more about Dorsey College, you may visit www.dorsey.edu.
