Dorsey Schools Students/Graduates among Recent Scholarship and Award Recipients

On April 24, 2015 the Michigan Association of Career Colleges and Schools (MACCS) held a student awards ceremony where six students were awarded a scholarship and 24 students received an “Outstanding Student Award.”  We are elated to share that the recipients included several students/graduates from Dorsey Schools!

The Michigan Association of Career Colleges and Schools issues scholarships annually to students attending a career school in Michigan.  In order to be eligible for the scholarship, candidates must complete an application, write a statement of intent why they are pursuing their specific field of study and how they will believe it will change their life, and submit two letters of recommendation.  In addition, MACCS has an “Outstanding Student Award” that is presented to students based upon nominations from faculty.  In total, three Dorsey Schools’ students/graduates were awarded a scholarship, and seven received the “Outstanding Student Award.”

The Michigan Association of Career Colleges and Schools has been providing leadership and service to schools and students in Michigan for over 40 years.  The organization plays a vital role in serving as a voice in promoting awareness to the critical role career schools play in Michigan in not only training students but also preparing them for new careers in support of the growing economy here in Michigan.

Dorsey Schools is a proud member of the Michigan Association of Career Colleges and Schools and has been providing quality career training for over 80 years.  As the longest standing career school in Michigan, Dorsey is proud that there are thousands of successful Dorsey graduates working in their chosen field throughout Michigan.  Over the years, Dorsey has continued to grow and become a community partner in Michigan, offering training and programs in various in-demand fields and occupations.  Today, Dorsey operates ten campus locations throughout Michigan (Dearborn, Farmington Hills, Lansing, Madison Heights, Roseville, Saginaw, Southgate, Taylor, Waterford-Pontiac, and Wayne) and offers a variety of career training programs in fields such as Healthcare, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, and Skilled Trades.
