Dorsey College Hosts Free Health Fair and Open House Event for Local Community Saturday April 30, 2022
Dorsey College, a trusted name in career training and education here in Michigan, will be hosting a free health fair and open house event at its Woodhaven campus. The event will take place Saturday April 30, 2022, from 11AM to 2PM. Attendees will also be able to tour the school and learn more about the various training programs offered at the Woodhaven campus. Light refreshments will be provided and 97.9 WJLB will be on-site from 11AM – 1PM.
The Dorsey College Woodhaven campus serves those living in the various downriver communities as well as residents of Monroe County. The school is located at 19810 West Road in Woodhaven, which is at the northeast corner of West and Allen Roads. The campus offers a variety of training programs such as Medical Assistant, Medical Administration and Billing, Pharmacy Technician, Dental Assistant, Sterile Processing Technician, Practical Nurse, Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, and EMS Instructor-Coordinator. Staff will be on-hand to answer questions and assist those interested in learning more about training for a new career.
Dorsey College was founded in 1934 as the “Calculating and Secretarial Institute” and later renamed “The Dorsey School” by its owner, Ruth Dorsey. Over the years, The Dorsey School became Dorsey Schools, with various locations in Michigan offering quality career training and education. In 2021, Dorsey Schools became Dorsey College. Today, Dorsey College has campus locations throughout Michigan and offers comprehensive career training in the fields of healthcare, nursing, culinary arts, cosmetology, skilled trades, and emergency medical services. Dorsey College is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE). This applies to the Madison Heights campus (which serves as the main campus) and the Dearborn, Roseville, Saginaw, Woodhaven, and Wayne campuses (which are branch campus locations of Madison Heights).
