Why did Dorsey Schools become Dorsey College? What does this mean? Dorsey Schools has been committed to providing quality career training here in Michigan since 1934. As Dorsey College, we will be able to provide our students with new opportunities for career training and education. Based on feedback from employers we work with and others within our communities, there is a great need for skilled professionals in various fields here in Michigan. Many of these fields require an Associate Degree, which, Dorsey Schools has not offered. As Dorsey College, we will now be in a position to meet these needs for both prospective students looking to start on the path towards their exciting new career as well as local employers seeking talented, well-trained individuals. This is a natural next step for us, given our vast history here in Michigan, to better serve our students, local employers, and the communities in which we all live and work, in the years to come.
Will anything change with my training program? Current students will continue on with their training program, as usual. We know our students live busy lives outside of school. Over the past few years, we have heard feedback from our students regarding a desire for even more flexibility in completing their training program. As a result, several of our programs at Dorsey College will now be delivered in a hybrid format. This means that some classes will be delivered online via distance education whereas others will be held on-ground at a Dorsey College campus location.
Is anything changing with the campus I attend? Generally speaking, no. Our campuses will continue to offer facilities where students can train for their newly chosen career. As time goes on, you may notice some changes to the look and feel of our campuses.
