Success Stories

I knew it was time for me to make a change in my life concerning employment. I chose to do something I always enjoyed and had a passion for. That is when I enrolled in the Culinary Arts Program at Dorsey Schools. Dorsey was the perfect platform to build the foundation of my career in food preparation and the arts.

My experience at Dorsey was great. I learned product development, cooking techniques and proper handling of cooking knives. Without that training I would have been lost, ineffective, and qualified only for a dishwashing career. I plan to continue to cook, learn more cooking techniques, and further my schooling in culinary. In 5 or 6 years I plan to be qualified for Sous Chef status.

My advice to Dorsey’s current students is to stick with it, and push yourself. The more you put in the more you get back in all ways. Be true to yourself and others.

I chose the Medical Assistant Program because I like working with people and being able to help them. I chose Dorsey Schools because the staff and instructors personally worked with me in identifying my skills. When the assignments got hard and I wanted to give up the instructors pushed me and encouraged me to continue.

I knew I could accomplish this goal because I had a great support system with the Dorsey staff and my classmates. They were with me all the way making the experience a fun as well as an educational experience. The career goal I have now is to find a position as a Medical Assistant and help other using the skills I learned at Dorsey.

The advice I have for the students is "Don’t give up, before you know it, you will be finished and making good money".

I have a passion to cook. I was determined to find a career that gave me both satisfaction, financial stability, and one that is forever evolving. The Culinary Arts at Dorsey was all that and more. At Dorsey Culinary Academy I gained the experience, confidence, and knowledge of what to expect in the world of culinary.

My experience at Dorsey was amazing; I met great chefs, staff members, and wonderful classmates. My class time experience was great, organized, and my confidence level was built high preparing me for the externship training. Now that I have completed the program I plan to keep learning and gain the knowledge and experience I need to get where I want to be in the culinary field.

To the Dorsey Culinary Students; don’t ever give up; the feeling of finishing culinary arts is one amazing feeling. Just keep pushing to get where you want to be.

I chose the Dorsey Medical Assistant Program to get into a new career field and make a better life for myself. I also chose Dorsey because they were prompt and helpful with me in making my decision. The instructors gave me the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the requirements of the program.

I had a great experience and took full advantage of knowledgeable instructors. They were always helpful and put extra efforts in helping me succeed. I am going to use my Certification to make more money while I continue my degree in criminal justice and possibly nursing.

The advice I give to all Dorsey Students is to STUDY! Ask questions and practice your skills more than just check offs. Be RESPECTFUL to your instructors and they will do everything to help you succeed.

From an early age I loved to cook. I wanted to attend a school that would be rewarding as well as enjoyable. I found Dorsey and I was excited to enroll because it offered both. I had great mentors and they prepared me for the culinary industry. They taught me that there is a time to speak and a time to listen.

My experience at Dorsey was intriguing, exciting, and sometimes a nervous experience but never a dull moment. It was not an easy task but the Chefs were always there to see me through. I want to continue working and getting experience. Once I reach my goals I would like to own my own catering business.

My advice to the students is to keep going, it is not always going to be easy but keep your head up, keep your mind on the prize and at the end you will be greatly rewarded.

When I saw the commercial on television for Dorsey Culinary School, I saw a chance for my education in culinary. The school was near my home and the hours fit my schedule. Dorsey was an essential preparation for my entry into the culinary field. The teaching on sanitation and the sense of urgency played a great part in my day to day experience on my job.

The Chefs were all great and showed intense interest in my success. The classes and seminars afforded all students the opportunity to excel. The program was intense but fun. I intend to continue to improve and become a more competent employee on my job.

My advice to Dorsey students is to study hard, work hard, and listen to the Chefs because their knowledge and expertise can definitely lead you to success. I will always “Cook like I mean it”. Thanks to Dorsey School.

When I thought of furthering my education I wanted something that would challenge me, this is why I chose the Medical Administration and Billing Program at Dorsey Schools. The hours at Dorsey Schools allowed me to still work while obtaining my education. I feel that Dorsey equipped me with the skills and qualifications that employers look for. They empowered me to be confident as I ventured on my career path.

I am currently employed with the company in which I did my externship. My goal is to help the company grow as I grow and move up in my career. My advice to Dorsey students is, “don’t sell yourself short, you get out of your experience what you put in”. Everyone at Dorsey wants you to succeed, let them help you; ask questions, take advice, and work hard. In the end you will leave with the knowledge and skills you need along with confidence and respect for yourself and in your choice to attend Dorsey.
